HELLENES (League of Delos) against KELTHER
Battle played in the week from 18 to 24 November 2019

The scenery:
We hypothesized that Brenno, the Chief of an eastern Kelther tribe, decided to carry out a raid on Hellas. His warriors were joined by Taurines who brought him one of their Giant Bulls. Two of the legendary HEROES of AVALON have also decided to accompany Brenno: Cu Khulainn, the son of the god Lug, and Finn Mc Cumbal, the mighty Half-Giant Hero.
To confront the Horde of the raiders, the Sovereigns of the cities of Hellas gathered in the temple of Delos and gave birth to a League, to which three of the mythical HEROES of the PARNASUS joined: Heracles, Bellerophon and Axena. The warrior princess has set aside her ancient rivalries with the Hellen heroes, especially with Bellerophon. For her and Heracles it was also an opportunity to remember and - perhaps - rekindle their ancient, mutual love attraction.
Armies:
We played with armies of 3500 points and 1250 ars arcana points each.
As mentioned above, both armies were reinforced by mythical HEROES: those of PARNASO for the Hellenes, those of AVALON for the Kelther. The first were represented by Heracles, Bellerophon (on his pegaso) and Axena (on a war chariot pulled by two Centauresses). Bellerophon was accompanied by a Squad (Unit) of his Knights on pegasus (winged horses). Beside the Kelther there were Cu Khulainn (on war chariot) and Finn Mc Cumbal, supported by a Taurines Giant Bull and another Kelther Half Giant ("another" because Finn is also an Half Giant.)

The battle:
Result of the clash in terms of points:
The battle ended with a "Massacre":
The Hellenes suffered 1795 points of losses (Sandro)
The Kelther suffered 3280 points of losses (Sergio),with the difference of 1485 points in their favor..
The difference in terms of lost points was essentially caused by the outcome of the clashes between the Hellen and Kelther heroes supported by the Giant Creture. A real "Clash of the Titans". The FATE was decisive. The "cubes of fate" were decidedly decisive, especially in the epic clash between Heracles and Cu Khulainn. Both of them suffered injuries, but while Heracles, with the help of his Priests, managed to pass the relevant tests, Cu Khulainn's fate was decidedly adverse: in an invocation of the Gods, his three Priests, with the launch of the canons 3 dice got THREE ONE !!! Not only was it not possible to repeat the wrong saving throws for the Hero, but every Priest was forced to make a save thrrow and is dead! The Gods did not prove favorable to them. This disastrous result has definitely influenced the outcome of the battle. Meanwhile, Bellerophon has seen it with Finn Mc Cumbal and with the other Half Giant, and he, too, helped by FATE, he has managed to eliminate his opponents by being wounded, but still able to fight. However, out of prudence, for a few turns, Bellerophon took himself to safety in the rear of his army.
On the other side of the battlefield, the brave, fearless "Warrior Princess" faced the Taurine Giant Bull, as well as a Kelther Unit of the Cult of Artos (Warriors on Bear). Towards the end of the dispute, however, she was mortally wounded and the invocations to the Gods of her Priests were not enough to prevent her from being taken back to Parnassus, where she could return to life, ready for other future battles. However, Axena managed to inflict the 4 Wounds to the Giant Bull. At that point, the reassured and rested, Bellerophon returned to fight and completed the work, managing to eliminate even that last titanic creature.
To remedy the critical situation that had arisen, with the approach of Heracles, free to move in the field not having other enemies of his size to deal with, the 3 Kelther Wizards who formed a Cabal evoked a Supernatural Creature, a "FIEND ", who for the two final rounds managed to stop the Hellenic Hero, preventing him from being able to engage the Warchief Brenno, whose elimination would certainly have caused the flight of all the kelther Warriors who were still valiantly fighting. Heracles naturally managed to keep up with the Demon, who then, at the end of the last turn, returned to his dark dimension.
The clashes between the opposing Cavalries and Infantries have been fairly balanced. The Kelther on bears managed to eliminate the Heraclid Warriors on war chariots. Equally epic was the clash between the Fenians (Kelther Berserker) and the mighty Heraclids (the sons of Heracles). As mentioned, the loss of ALL Heroes and Giant Creatures, suffered only by the Kelther, influenced the outcome of the battle in terms of lost points, while the Hellenes lost only one (Axena).
Ultimately, it was a hugely amusing massacre for both contenders. Another epic "CLASH OF ARMIES, HEROES and TITANS" of Naran Fantasy Wars !
