Armies:

We played with armies of 4000 points and 1500 points of magic (Ars Arcana) each.

The armies were represented respectively by 135 miniatures of the Yao Army and 203 miniatures of Vampires & Undead Army, for a total of 338 miniatures.

The battle ended with a "Draw"::

the Vampires & Undead suffered 2559 points of losses(Sandro).

the Yao suffered 2851 points of losses(Sergio), with a difference of 292 points in their favor.

Note:

The scenario involved a raid on the northern lands of the Yao Empire by Vampires & Undead, sprung from the sands of the terrible Taklamakan desert. The Horde was summoned by a Vampire Lord, thanks to the necromantic power of eight Necromancers, which he managed to awaken from the tombs of one of the ancient cities that stood around the desert in ancient times, now reduced to piles of ruins semi-submerged by sand. The Horde managed to overcome the Great Wall in a place where it is not protected, because there was a collapse following an earthquake. The Garrison of the nearby city of Dunhuang was unable to intervene, as the Undead managed to pass unnoticed overnight, during a sandstorm from the desert, which forced the inhabitants of the city and villages of the region to retreat into homes.

The encroachment of the Horde was reported the next day by soldiers from a Watchtower, with a message being transported by a pigeon to the city of Kanbalik. An imperial army was promptly dispatched against the invaders, reinforced by a contingent of Knights on giant tigers from the Tang Kingdom.

The interception of the enemies took place near a plateau where there are a temple and a Taolin pagoda, in which there were only four Monks, four Clerics and three Magician Monks, who joined the Yao army, together with one of their own. Fo-Long unit, which was placed under the orders of the Tang Battle Leader.

The battle started at the first hour of the day. The Yao have won the Scouting and Maneuvering test. To bolster their army, the Wizard Monks promptly summoned a Celestial Creature. .

It was a clash of titans: the Yao fielded a Great Dragon and a Young Dragon. The Vampires & Undead fielded an Undead Imperial Mammouth, an Undead Giant, an Undead Half Giant and an Undead Dragon, as well as a Unit of 8 Giant Skeletons.

The outcome of the battle was affected by the death of the Giant Dragon of the Yao in the last Turn, due to the many unsuccessful Saving Throws, including those rolled after obtaining a re-roll thanks to the Invocation of the Gods by the Priests and Clerics, many of whom died in carrying out this rite. If the "dice of chance" had been more favorable, the Dragon would have survived and its 812 points would have decreased its army's losses.

But the "random" component of the dice is part of the game, which is otherwise always exciting. However, the Yao got a good "draw", which, considering that among the opponents there were some formidable Vampires and equally terrible Giant Creatures, the outcome of the clash is to be considered completely satisfactory.

The Army of Darkness was stopped and at the first light of dawn it disappeared.
